I am finally starting to see crabgrass popping up in hot, dry areas such as gravel driveways, curbsides and waste areas.
We will start to inspect lawns soon to confirm there is actually crabgrass present.
It is VERY important to stress to all our valued clients that our crabgrass control program is only effective on the crabgrass.
As discussed in our previous blog, poa annua, poa trivialis, quackgrass, bentgrass and almost every other native, invasive grass will not be controlled by this program. (See photos below for examples of these grasses). That is why it is so vital we stress the point. We want our clients to be fully aware of what to expect from this program.
It is also important to stress that crabgrass is an extremely vigorous and unsightly grass that is becoming a huge problem. It should be addressed before it becomes the dominant grass in your lawn.
